Systems thinking for solving complex problems

If you have heard about this popular workshop & thought I will attend the next one, please don’t wait – Register now.

Systems Thinking is a scientific approach to problem solving that deals with hidden complexity and sustainability. It:

· Provides tools and techniques for solving complex problems.
· Improves understanding and anticipation of long term consequences of decisions, actions, policies and strategies.
· Aims to avoid unintended consequences.

This workshop will introduce ‘systems thinking’ as a tool for helping central and local government work better together and address complex problems.

Led by Professor Kambiz Maani, an internationally renowned expert in systems thinking and sustainable strategies, you will learn how to use systems thinking as a tool for multi-dimensional, multi-stakeholder decision making at local and national levels.

Comments from delegates at previous Systems Thinking workshops:

  • very good - exceeded expectations !!
  • very relevant & useful to sit as local & central govt. who have strong organisational cultures - a great tool to improve effective team building
  • Excellent seminar, I have certainly learnt some practical tools which I will be able to use in my everyday work. The diagram will be very useful tool in enabling clear demonstration of what is often difficult to articulate, therefore causing more confusion & lack of understanding
  • Kambiz has an excellent command of the English language & an ability to transfer knowledge in a simple, precise & fun way!!. There were lots of moments throughout the presentation when I was reminded of (i) why projects (especially those driven by committees) never went anywhere, (ii) why Crown initiated projects with lots of different agencies involved seem to “stay stuck”. I enjoyed the “close to home” examples that were used which appealed to my learning style. Absolutely wonderful having the importance of relationships, values & beliefs confirmed as being a priority in which to “tackle” complexities.
